The Fire box provides a safe distance from the outside tot he lightened up charcoal so that the outisde of the kamado heats up less quickly. The box ensures optimal air flow and a safe environment in which the kamado can properly be operated. The Fire box is included standard with the each kamado, this is a replacement product.
