The binchopan is used to light your Binchotan easily and quickly. The pan consists of three parts, a lid, a middle and bottom. You start by filling the middle section with Binchotan. Place the pieces of Binchotan upright in the middle piece. Then place the bottom with the logo facing down on a fireproof surface. Place firelighters or another fire starter on the bottom. Then place the middle piece on top. After 15-30 minutes, the Binchotan will glow and you can fill your grill. CAUTION: always do this with tongs or heat-resistant gloves
To extinguish the Binchotan after use, place the bottom of the pan with the logo facing upwards on a fireproof surface. Place the middle piece on top. Then fill the middle piece with the glowing Binchotan and close off the oxygen with the lid. By using the binchopan as an extinguisher, you can easily reuse your charcoal for the next grilling session. This allows you to use your fuel more sustainably, plus you reduce CO2 emissions. Please note that the handle of the binchopan becomes hot during use. You can light both your Shichirin and Kamado with the binchopan.
