The YAKINIKU® Smoker Box makes even better use of your smoked wood. You can place the box directly on the coals or, if you have a gas barbecue, under the grid. You can even place the smoker box on the element of an electric BBQ. A smoker box can also be used in combination with smoking wood. The smoker box ensures that the wood chips are smoked slowly and thus give off their aroma longer to the dishes being prepared on the BBQ.
Using a smoker box is very easy. You open the box, put some wood chips in the smoker box, close the lid and place it on the glowing hot coals. That's it! The coals slowly heat the wood chips and these will slowly release their aroma. You can use the smoking wood wet and dry. If you soak the smoking wood first, it will take longer for the wood to smoke but it will last longer. If you put the smoking wood dry in the smoker box, it will smoke faster and there will also be no temperature drop.
At YAKINIKU®, we have two types of smoking wood: Chuncks and Smoking Wood. But what is the difference between the two? The chuncks are best used for longer smoking sessions and you cannot use these in the smoker box. This is because they are larger in size than the woodchips. You can use the smoking wood not only in the smoker box, but also separately on the fire.
You can actually prepare any dish you can think of. Put your favourite piece of meat, fish or vegetable on the barbecue and let the smoke do its work. Depending on what you are going to prepare, the ideal temperature of the smoker box is between 90 and 150 °C.
